Terms and conditions of Table Manners (UK) Ltd

Equipment Hire

 

  1. All equipment remains the property of Table Manners UK Ltd. The hirer guarantees that the person signing the delivery note is authorised to do so on behalf of the hirer.
  2. The hirer is responsible for any loss or damage to the goods, from time of delivery until the goods are returned to Table Manners Warehouse. Deliveries left at premises unattended are left at the Hirer’s risk. No insurance is provided by Table Manners UK Ltd.
  3. When confirming an order, we ask for a 20% or £100 deposit whatever is the greater. Payment in full is required seven days prior to delivery, except when account facilities have been agreed. A minimum hire order value of hired equipment £50 plus VAT is applicable.
  4. Full payment including any refundable deposit must be made 48 hrs before any equipment is released. Payment can be made by credit or debit card or by bank transfer (Bank details available upon request).
  5. Deposit will be refundable subject to the balance against losses and breakages. Where the deposit is not enough to cover the replacement cost the hirer is liable for the balance.
  6. Any damage or shortages will be charged for the full replacement price shown on the invoice. We will credit back any missing items if these are returned within 14 days of the invoice, however extended hire charges will be applied if equipment is not returned on due date. Please ensure goods are repacked ready for collection, any packing boxes/ containers to be returned dry and intact a charge will be made for damages and/or losses.
  7. Cancellation of orders within 7 days is charged at 50% hire charge. Cancellation of order within 3 days of hire will incur the full 100% hire charge.
  8. Payment terms for Account customers are strictly 30 days, interest will be charged at 8% above base rate, calculated daily until settlement is received.
  9. Prices quoted are for one day hiring only and are subject to VAT (please refer to point 6) Extended hire terms are available on request. A washup charge of 25% will be levied on applicable items.
  10. Table Manners accepts no liability whatsoever for any injury or damage to persons, property or loss of profit claimed by the hirer in respect of any interruptions, errors, delays, omissions or any failure to deliver or from the use of any equipment under hire.
  11. Delivery/collections staff are not authorised to return deposits or check goods. Deposits will be refunded provided all our equipment has been returned.  Shortages or damages will be charged at full replacement costs.
  12. It is admitted that the person signing for the delivery has had chance to check and inspect the hired equipment and is received in good condition and is authorised to sign for the delivery by the hirer.
  13. Queries on items (such as damage or shortages) must be notified immediately (before event start time).
  14. If the hirer has any cause for concern regarding suitability or function of equipment hired, Table Manners UK Ltd must be advised immediately. No redress will be given to a grievance once the equipment has been used.
  15. If equipment is returned unused from an event, credit will notbe given.
  16. Under no circumstances should gas or electrical equipment be tampered with.  Gas products must not be used below ground level and only used in well ventilated areas.
  17. All furniture etc must be kept dry. If the equipment is used or stored outside, the hirer is responsible for any damage or loss caused by the elements, theft vandalism and/or any other entity.
  18. Please remember that when linen is packed wet or damp, mildew can occur, linen returned in bad condition (stains, burn marks) will be charged at full replacement cost.
  19. The non-return of equipment boxes, cases, cages etc will be charged at full replacement cost.
  20. Cutlery must be washed or rinsed after use. All silver and stainless-steel items should be rinsed only in hot soapy water. Scourers must never be used on any hired equipment especially on silver items and cutlery.
  21. The transport charge is calculated on the size of order, distance and time.  Alternatively, orders can be collected and returned by the customer from Table Manners warehouse.
  22. Table Manners will make every effort to effect delivery and collection at the time specified by the hirer.  No responsibility will be accepted if requested times are not met, due to circumstances beyond our control.
  23. Deliveries and collections are from hard standing next to main door, ground level entrance unless previously advised.  Additional charges will be imposed in respect of waiting time should the driver and porters be unduly delayed whilst attempting to complete the delivery or collection.
  24. It is the hirers responsibility to ensure any necessary protective covering for floors and walls are in place before delivery and collection.
  25. It is assumed that hirers that they are at the delivery/collection address and it is assumed that they will ensure adequate parking facilities. Table Manners UK Ltd reserves the right to pass on any parking fines that are incurred due to the non-disclosure of correct delivery information.
  26. We must be advised of any unusual delivery or collections issues. Including multiple drop areas within the venue, restricted or difficult access, steps ect. We must be advised of any specific time constraints plus any other such issues that could impact on our service or cause health and safety issues to drivers and porters.
  27. Any non-disclosures may result in additional charges and could result in non-delivery of goods (no refund would be applicable). Charges will be made for wasted journeys. Additional transport/porter charges will apply for return trips due to non- admittance, undue delay which is caused by absence or lateness of hirer, incorrect, inaccurate information. Table Manners is not insured to move any third party’s furniture and cannot be held responsible for any damage that could occur.
  28. We reserve the right to change any price without the need to give prior notice.  All prices are subject to VAT.
